Thomas Ambrose Bowen was born April 18, 1916, in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. From the 1950’s until his death on October 27, 1982, he developed his soft tissue therapeutic technique that is known originally as the Bowen Technique and Bowenwork® in the USA.
Bowen achieved amazing results. According to a 1974 survey of alternative health practitioners performed by the Victorian government, Tom Bowen was found to be doing over 13,000 treatments per year. In over 85% of his cases, the problems for which the patients sought treatment were resolved completely. Mr. Bowen’s work is now taught in over 25 counries in the world.
